“Charity: Water”: What's next?

Two months ago, we kicked off a charity project via Facebook: “trivago: water for all”. From 1^st to 31^st October, for each new ‘like’ of our official fan page, trivago donated $ 1 to Charity:Water. Thanks to your active participation we were able to donate $ 8,362 to this non-profit organisation, which provides safe drinking water to communities in developing countries.

It’s time to celebrate the success of the “trivago: water for all” project! We raised $8,362 and we would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to all those who helped by liking our fan page: You have helped us to provide clean drinking water to an entire community!

As you know, trivago is always on the go, and with the start of the new season, we present the latest news: "trivago water for all"!

From 30th September until 31st October, for each new "like" of our new official fan page, trivago will donate $1 to "Charity: Water": a non-profit organization that supplies clean water to developing countries.

This association, in just 5 years, has already helped to complete many projects that have guaranteed over 2 million people access to clean, safe water.

Milan, 10th August 2011– trivago is getting even more social! After the launch of the new international Fan-page, trivago wants to surprise its fans even more with the arrival of trivago TV. If you have ever tried to imagine the faces and scenes behind the first hotel price comparison site in Europe, you can have a peek directly via your computer. The live webcam will show you what happens in the Düsseldorf headquarters 24 hours a day!

It’s a great pleasure and honour for us to welcome you to the new trivago official Facebook fan page. Well… we are not really new here, as someone of you may have noticed - we had more than 15 local, semi-official and unofficial profiles already open, but until now not yet the ONE. We are in FB version 1.0 and have a lot still to come (challenges & more...), but we hope you already like this new layout!
In a period of new and big challenges (google+ is ready to be launched, as well as other social networks and mobile apps yet to come...), we thought it was the right time and place to open a direct channel of communication with our users, who we don’t yet know directly because trivago, as a Hotel price search, doesn’t have a direct customer relationship with them.
