It’s time to celebrate the success of the “trivago: water for all” project! We raised $8,362 and we would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to all those who helped by liking our fan page: You have helped us to provide clean drinking water to an entire community!
Why Charity: Water? This association, in the 5 years since it was established, has already completed numerous projects which have guaranteed over 2 million men, women and children access to clean and safe water. Until now the association has raised $40 million and funded 4,282 water projects. You can view them by country, local partner and project type here. The fundraising process is very straight forward and reliable, with 100% of the donations going directly to the partners on the ground.
How does the donation work? Once the fundraising campaign is over, the donation it sent to the local partners on site, working to provide clean water to communities with the greatest need. The partners get to work by selecting the appropriate water technology, which depends on the region’s water availability as well as economic conditions. The community then elects a Water Committee to oversee the project, who are trained on how to manage and maintain it, allowing the whole community to get involved in the water project. The partners finish by collecting GPS data, photos and other important information and they submitting a final report. Finally, the association verify the project, using a custom-built Assignment Tool which matches the money raised with the projects we helped to fund. For further details, please click here.
