Same Room, Same Hotel… but 2 prices

… and not just 2 ;) How is that possible?

Trivago is the price comparison website (also known as a ‘metasearch’) for hotel rooms. It may seem difficult to understand, but the concept is quite simple. Trivago works as a search engine (just like Google!) and helps users to find their ideal hotel, regardless of the destination. Offers like the following one are quite usual at trivago:

Hotel **** in Berlin on August 6th at 55€ per double room (2 people).

How is that possible?
Trivago compares rates from more than 100 websites (travel agencies, hotel chains, booking sites...) for half a million hotels worldwide.
Almost all hotels that can be booked online can be found on our site. Try it out now! Type in the name of a destination that you’d like to visit for your next holiday.

(Don’t forget the date!) trivago will immediately show you at glance the best offers per night available for that destination.
You can also filter the results further by sorting by price, distance from the city centre or a specific point of interest.
Using the price bar you can see all price ranges at a glance. For example, in our search case you know that a double room for hotel in London on that specific day (6/7 August 2011) costs from 37€ to 2.267€.
By clicking and dragging on the bar, you can set the lower and upper limits, and anything cheaper or more expensive than your selection will disappear from the results.
The following section lets you decide which hotel star category suits you the best.
In the next section, you can avoid bad surprises and just look at the best hotels by only showing the hotels with the highest online reputations.
And there you go! The results will now show only the best hotels. You can find out more information about the hotels by clicking on them, such as photographs, hotel descriptions, nearby attractions, and much, much more! Chances are, your ideal hotel is somewhere in the list!
Now, you might be asking yourself: why are there such differences in prices?
The answer is simple! Booking sites and travel agencies often negotiate different terms when reserving or buying rooms for their service. That’s why rooms can differ from provider to provider in cancellation policy , room type, breakfast, payment options… the list goes on and on!
Because of this, it’s always important that you carefully check all these booking details before proceeding with your booking confirmation. Apart from that, you’re all set! Have fun with the price comparison and filtering, and we hope you find exactly what you were looking for!
